Iteris Expands International Presence with Opening of First Office in Asia

To further demonstrate its commitment to international expansion, Iteris has opened a China representative office in Beijing, in the CDB of ChaoYang District, to better serve and expand upon the growing business opportunities in Asia. “China presents a very important market opportunity for Iteris and we are ready to make targeted investments in this area to provide strong local support for our growing customer base,” said Abbas Mohaddes, president and CEO of Iteris, Inc. “We believe China’s adoption of advanced traffic management systems is accelerating and Iteris is well-positioned to establish a presence in Asia providing a suite of products suitable for that market.”

Through its new representative office in China, Iteris will provide sales management, technical support and marketing for its customers. The new office operates under the direction of Chief Representative, Melvyn Haxby, who oversees Iteris’ International Business Development. Iteris plans to add China-based representatives to provide enhanced support to this region. “Our new Beijing office will greatly improve our ability to address the needs of China’s urban traffic congestion,” added Mohaddes. “Iteris offers field-proven video detection technology that should easily integrate into the traffic signal controllers currently deployed in China. We believe expanding our presence in this market will present many opportunities to ease some of the traffic congestion problems facing nearly all of China’s major cities in the coming years.”
